New Castle is a historic town on the Delaware River in New Castle County, Delaware, just south of Wilmington. The center of town is built around The Green, with cobblestone streets, brick row houses and the old courthouse, and the surrounding area has residential neighborhoods and shopping.

I-295 and I-95 are close, and US-13, US-40 and Route 9 run through the area. The Delaware Memorial Bridge to New Jersey is a short drive, Wilmington is a few minutes north, and the Wilmington airport is nearby. Newark and the Route 1 toll road are a straightforward drive.

The waterfront is part of the town’s identity. Battery Park sits on the river with a walking path and open lawn, and the Green and the historic streets are good for a walk. The Read House and the Court House Museum are open to visitors. Restaurants and small shops are in the historic center, and larger stores are along US-13 and US-40.
